The Lion King Review

There was a little pressure on the filmmakers of The Lion King.  Many people, including me, had high expectations for this movie.  They had to not blow it within seconds of its opening.  The first note had to be exactly right.  And it was!  At the very first sound several people in the theater, myself included, clapped excitedly.

For the most part I liked the movie.
I give it an 8 out of 10

There were 2 large problems to me, that took it down 2 points.

Toy Story 4 Review

It felt to me like going home again - comfortable, but different.  It was visiting old friends, in a different space.  (No pun intended!)                                           This story was mostly about Woody,                and his purpose in toy life.  Bo Peep, Forky, Buzz, and several new characters were the stars of this one.  The other toys were there, but they were featured characters, not quite supporting.                        Keep reading for more details.
I give it a 9 out of 10

Tale of the Lion King - Don't miss it!

The Storytellers of the Pride Lands

    Tale of the Lion King

This show is near the Little Mermaid ride, across the water from Pixar Pier.  Get there early to get a good seat - there are benches, stairs, the ground and some standing areas.  Kids and their families can sit on the stairs.  There's a part of the show where they pull kids out of the audience.

The show is absolutely worth the wait!  It was so good!
It was hot and uncomfortable while waiting - I missed a bench by 30 seconds!
But it was totally worth it!  The show is awesome!
The Storytellers are amazing and do a fabulous job.

Our Visit to Batuu! Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge!

R2-D2 is my favorite Star Wars character!
This one is in the Droid Depot -
you can buy it for a mere $25,000!

Our Visit to Batuu!

Chris and I were lucky enough to get reservations for Friday, June 14, 2019 to go see Galaxy's Edge.
(Ok - so maybe not so much luck as me sitting at my computer for 3 straight hours to make my reservation!  But not everyone got one, so some of it was luck!)

I'm not a huge Star Wars fan, but Chris is.  I thought Galaxy's Edge was fascinating - it looked just like an outpost to me!  But Chris was the one they had to convince.

He loved the look and the feel!  He was impressed by a lot of it!

"Aladdin" Movie Review

The New Live Action "Aladdin"  movie takes us to a whole new world - that is actually a bit familiar.

My rating: 9 out of 10

Lots of people have said "Why remake a classic?" or "Is it really necessary to redo a classic animated film as live action?" or even  "Where are the original ideas?"

There are always people who have a hard time with change.  I understand the feeling of "why mess with a classic".  But imagination doesn't have an expiration date!  And artists are always imagining things in new ways.

This movie is familiar. It's the same story, setting, characters (with only 1 addition), and idea - but it's done in a very different way.  It's familiar, yet different.  They didn't mess with the original, they paid homage to it as they told it in a new way.  It's a great movie!

"Avengers Endgame" Review

"Avengers Endgame" Review

Ok - So when we saw Avengers Infinity War we didn't know that it was Part 1 of 2.  When it ended, we were like "WHAT JUST HAPPENED?!?!?!?!?!" Today we saw "Avengers Endgame" and it all made more sense.

It is a fitting ending to a huge adventure.

It's rated PG-13 for mild language and some violence.

I give it a 10 out of 10

Storytellers Cafe Character Brunch - December 2018

Mickey’s Tales of Adventure Breakfast Buffet

In December 2018 we had a fun character dining experience at the Storyteller's Cafe inside The Grand Californian.

It is available from 7:00am-2:00pm.  We made our appointment at 1:00 and it was awesome!
Not very crowded at all at that point.
We had some fun interactions with the characters.

The characters we saw were:
Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Chip and Dale

We've done a few character meals before, but none of them were as fun and silly as this one.  We got so much interaction with the characters!  And we had no kids with us - it was just Chris and me.  They didn't care - they still paid attention to us!  And because it wasn't crowded, they spent time with us.  There was no hurry.

And I loved their outfits!
The theme was really cool!
