Our Visit to Batuu! Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge!

R2-D2 is my favorite Star Wars character!
This one is in the Droid Depot -
you can buy it for a mere $25,000!

Our Visit to Batuu!

Chris and I were lucky enough to get reservations for Friday, June 14, 2019 to go see Galaxy's Edge.
(Ok - so maybe not so much luck as me sitting at my computer for 3 straight hours to make my reservation!  But not everyone got one, so some of it was luck!)

I'm not a huge Star Wars fan, but Chris is.  I thought Galaxy's Edge was fascinating - it looked just like an outpost to me!  But Chris was the one they had to convince.

He loved the look and the feel!  He was impressed by a lot of it!

Keep reading to see our pics, our thoughts, and our suggestions!

We checked in inside Launchbay to get our wristbands!

We entered in Critter Country right by the Hungry Bear Restaurant.  It was a long, interesting, cool walk into the land from there.  It was crowded there at the beginning because there were so many of us going in at the same time.  But it was cool!

Chris and I split up when we walked in so we could get in line for different things - I inadvertently got him in a few of my pictures as we were both looking around and trying to get our bearings!  :). (That's him with the black and white Mickey Mouse backpack a little left of center in the picture to the left.)

I love the look of this building - it looks like R2 - or a similar droid -
sitting on top, keeping an eye out!

We went straight to Savi's Workshop - Chris was DYING to build a light saber!
We got there 6 minutes after our time started, and they were already full!
6 minutes!  Seriously?!?!?!?!?!?!!  So he didn't get to do one.
But next time we go we will do our best to do one!
Someday, he'll for sure get to do it - that's what I figure!  :)

If you want to build a lightsaber - go there first!  Do not pass go, do not collect $200!  Just go!
(Actually - you'll be spending $200'ish!) :)

Keep an eye on the website to see if they make changes to the queue for it -
I'm hoping it will be one online or over the phone before our next trip.  But who knows?
I'll be keeping an eye on things so that we have the best chance of getting Chris in to build one.
He was so disappointed that he didn't get to when we were there!

Storm Troopers are just wandering about all over the place!

This was truly an exciting moment - even for me!  We were near the Millennium Falcon!

Chris wanted to get all of these "Thermal Detonators".  The Batuuan who sold them to him was awesome!  She was totally in character.  She was the most "in character" cast member we talked to.  These were probably his favorite souvenirs from the trip!  (Since he didn't get his light saber!)

Even the trash cans are cool!

Shopping!  Not sure exactly what it's called - Batuu market?

R2-D2 is quite a flirt!  Loved him!

Droid Depot

There's a store area - that's where R2 is. nThen there's the other area!
This was really cool - you can build your own droid here.

The stall doors in the bathroom are cool.       And the troughs for the sinks - interesting!

We tried both the Blue Milk and the Green Milk.  It was almost $18 for both - no discounts available.

We liked the Blue Milk better - it was a little fruity.  The Green Milk tasted like medicine.  We tried them separately, then mixed them together - that was good!  To be honest, I don't see myself craving them, or necessarily buying them again, but for the first trip we had to try them!

First Order area - storm troopers are everywhere!
Cool Tie Fighter, too!

Photo Pass Photographers are in Batuu!
They were some of the nicest Batuuans we met!

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run

Well worth the 30 minute wait.  I'm excited to ride it again!

These pictures are from the line - and out the window - while in the queue.
It was cool!

We were assigned as Gunners!

This is the waiting room before the cockpit - lots to see and do!

Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo

This was a fun place to eat!  It's the only restaurant in Galaxy's Edge - Quick Service
Ronto Roasters has food also, but there is no seating.
There is seating inside and outside the restaurant.
Great food!  And lots to look at.

                                                                                                 Moof Juice

Braised Shaak Roast and Smoked Kaadu Ribs

                              Oi-oi Puff

The food was delicious!  We will definitely eat there again!

Even the stools are cool!                     Outside eating area at Docking Bay 7

On our way out of the land,
we passed a droid in the bushes.

Cool photo Pass Card in Batuu
